Certificate for the products — the resulting document (or set of documents) of the work that referred to as certification of the products.
The obtaining a certificate for products means passing evaluation of conformity of production in applicable requirements, for example, DSTU, GOST, TU. The evaluation is derived from an independent producer and consumer authorized third party. This evaluation is certification of the products.
Certificate for the products is correctly called a Certificate of Conformity to requirements ... (further the specific requirements are idicated). If the applicable requirements are missing, for example, because of newness of the products, then before realization the certification of the products, the requirements should be established and confirmed. For example, this situation often emerges with the TS - technic specifications.
Certificate for the products is often called a certificate of quality. But you should remember that this is an informal name and it would be more correct to call it the Certificate of Conformity.
Certificate for the product. Required or not?
Certificate for the products may be required and may be voluntary.
If the products included in the list of mandatory certification which is confirmed by the State Committee of Ukraine for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy of 01.02.2005 № 28, than the certificate for the products is required. Such products must be manufactured, imported and sold in the territory of Ukraine only with the availability of Certificate of Conformity.
If the certificate is not required, than receiving it isn’t necessarily.
There is also a voluntary certification. It means that the certificate for the products is not required, but you already have got it. The purpose for this certification is to increase the prestige of the corporation and the competitiveness of products. Such certification allows the products to participate in tenders, as the tender’s terms, usually, establish a certificate.

Mandatory certification is carried out in UkrSEPRO.
System UkrSEPRO – is the state certification system. It works under the direction of Gospotrebstandart of Ukraine and is based on standards of DSTU. These standards are developed in Ukraine and have their own particularities in compared to the certification practice of other countries.
Currently, the approach of the certification system UkrSEPRO to thepolicy of the European community is being progressed. And differences lead to the compulsory required certification and increase the cost of the imported products.
Voluntary certification is usually carried out on conformity to international standards. Such certificate for the products is issued by the certification bodies,that have the appropriate authorities (accreditation diploma of NAAU) according to the Law of Ukraine ‘On accreditation of conformity assessment bodies’.
